We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader to oversee Mainframe Systems and Operations Individual must be willing to work on-site in Sioux Falls, SD and eligible to work without sponsorship.
Director of Mainframe and Operations:
In this position, you'll be responsible for leading a team of experts to maintain the dependability, safety, and efficiency of mainframe systems.
Mainframe Operations Management:
Oversee the day-to-day functioning, upkeep, and management of mainframe systems, guaranteeing optimal performance, accessibility, and dependability
Team Supervision:
Lead a team comprising mainframe system programmers, operators, and analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations
Infrastructure Management:
Supervise the design, deployment, and upkeep of mainframe infrastructure, encompassing hardware, software, and network components
Security and Compliance Assurance:
Implement and uphold security protocols, procedures, and safeguards to safeguard mainframe systems and data, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and standards
Strategic Vision:
Spearhead efforts to envision the future trajectory of mainframe operations and management over the coming decade
Capacity Planning and Optimization:
Monitor usage patterns and capacity trends of mainframe resources, devising strategies to enhance resource utilization and scalability
Incident Response Coordination:
Manage the resolution of mainframe-related incidents and downtimes, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal disruption to business activities
Change Oversight:
Handle alterations to mainframe systems and infrastructure, encompassing planning, testing, implementation, and documentation, to mitigate risks and ensure system stability
Vendor Relations Management:
Assess and manage relationships with external vendors and service providers
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalentProficient in mainframe administration, operations, or associated positions, demonstrating a track record of evolving leadership roles.
Thorough understanding of mainframe hardware, operating systems (such as z/OS), and software (like IBM DB2, CICS).Comprehensive grasp of mainframe operations, storage, and security protocols.
Proven experience in mainframe performance optimization, capacity management, and contingency planning.Exceptional leadership, communication, and team-oriented abilities, fostering productive collaboration across diverse teams and departments.
Robust analytical and problem-solving proficiencies, emphasizing perpetual enhancement and inventive solutions.
