    Salary Range:
    $ $22.89 Reports to: Nutrition Services SupervisorPlease note that this position is 183 days with 6 paid holidays, paid sick leave and paid flexible personal leave (3 days per year). If hired after the start of the school year, days and leave are pro-rated.     Job Summary:
    To prepare and serve well balanced, attractive meals for students in a secondary school. Supports elementary food service and performs District catering.


    Essential Job Functions:
    Uses tools and equipment safely and properly.

    Communicates and works cooperatively with other members of the school staff including:
    school principal, classified and licensed personnel. Comprehends and follows oral and written instruction. Performs moderately heavy tasks. Performs as a positive role model through appearance, personal neatness and personal habits. Exhibits regular attendance and punctuality. Coordinates all activities of production to ensure completion of food services at specified times. Takes monthly inventory of food and supplies. Compiles and places orders for necessary food and supplies needed for smooth operations. Decides proper quantities of product to produce based on student population and taste. Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings to review menus and address operational problems. Plans and coordinates employee duties for efficient production.


    Maintains accurate documentation such as:

    USDA production records, cash and meal sale records using computerized meal accounting system, and meal per labor hour reports.

    Ensures that food is produced, served, and stored in a safe, sanitary manner. Implements new programs as instructed by the Food Service Supervisor. Provides catering or special event services as requested. Manages food service workers assigned to specified schools. Supports elementary food service managers by providing baked and other goods as menued. Receives, properly stores, and equitably distributes USDA commodities. Responsible for being familiar with the school/district policies and procedures which govern the work. Prompt and regular attendance is required.


    Other Job Functions:
    Performs other tasks as assigned.

    Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.

    Participates in various meetings and professional development activities for the purpose of sharing information and/or improving one's skills/knowledge. Essential Job Requirements
    • Qualifications: Food Handler's Permit.
    High School diploma or equivalent. Ability to work cooperatively and harmoniously as a team member. Ability to plan, organize, and work without close supervision. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with District personnel and the public. Maintains confidential information and the privacy of District staff, students, and families. Carries out work responsibilities effectively under pressure of deadlines, interruptions, and new or emergency situations. Ability to work with a diverse population. Ability to respect confidential information. Computer skills to include use of word processing programs, database programs and the Google Suite of products.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens. The noise level in the work environment varies but is usually moderate.
