    Description


    Under general direction, assists with the integration of software programs, applications and third-party solutions as required to meet the business requirements of the organization.

    This is an on-site position.

    Writes, translates and codes software programs and applications according to specifications.
    Participates in the development and maintenance of an integration architecture blueprint for the organization.
    Assists, executes, and manages the integration of new application integration technology into the existing environment.
    Ensures that integration projects meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements and identify and resolve systems issues.
    Develops standards and processes to support and facilitate integration projects and initiatives.
    Collaborates with analysts, designers and system owners in the testing of newly integrated software programs and applications.
    Builds relationships with city department business application experts to gain an understanding of application architecture and required functionality.

    Runs and monitors software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purpose of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement and general debugging.

    Generates statistics and prepares and writes reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming process.
    Assists in the development and maintenance of user manuals and guidelines.
    Coordinates with other IT staff to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.
    Enhances business processes via integration or, as necessary, minimizes the impact of integration on those processes.
    Assists other developers, analysts and designers in conceptualizing and developing new software programs and applications.
    Performs other related duties as assigned.


    Associate's degree in computer science; or, HS diploma or GED equivalent plus two (2) years of experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the required work in this position.

    Must pass a background check as prescribed by the City of Davenport.
    Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain throughout duration of employment.

    Working Knowledge of:
    Any of the major JavaScript client-side frameworks such as React, Vue, Svelte, Angular and ExtJS.

    Backend programming languages such as NodeJS, C#, Python, Go and PHP.

    Artifact and package management technologies such as NPM, NuGet and PIP.

    Using git for version control and feature/defect branching collaboration.

    Interacting with RESTful APIs and interpreting and implementing API documentation.

    Applicable data privacy practices and laws.

    Knowledge of microservices or service-oriented architecture (SOA) is a plus.


    Working Skill in:
    Communicating ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
    Researching application integration issues and products.
    Researching software-related issues and products.
    Effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a high-pressure environment.
    Developing new applications and tools using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
    Working both independently and in a team-oriented collaborative environment.
