    Position Summary

    The banquet bartender is responsible for quickly and courteously responding to guest requests for beverages and executing recipes to Cescaphe standard. The banquet bartender is responsible for monitoring alcoholic beverage service to individuals, ensuring intoxicated or underage guests are not served alcohol but are offered alternatives. This job also requires high level of organization, cleanliness and ability to handle a fast-paced, professional environment.

    We host events that are often formal or black tie. Banquet bartenders are expected to carry themselves in a professional manner and utilize proper bartending techniques. Each team member is expected to assist when and where necessary during an event to ensure flawless event execution. Our banquet bartender is expected to perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs. Banquet bartenders work closely with Event Managers, General Managers, and other front of house staff to assist in successful events across all Cescaphe venues. There is flexibility in this position for individuals to cross train into a banquet serving position as well. Prior catering or banquet serving experience would be necessary if interested in this cross trained position.

    Essential Duties and Desired Qualifications

    Product
    • Identifies bar related event specific items from event sheets.
    • Conduct regular pour tests and taste tests for proper drink construction and quality.
    • Ensures all beverages are constructed according to identified standards.
    • Keeps product fresh and rotated using first in, first out system.
    • Keeps any refrigerated product properly stocked.
    • Completes all setup and breakdown duties assigned by Head Bartender.
    • Completes all cleaning procedures assigned by Head Bartender.
    • Adheres to any venue specific setup procedures.
    • Adheres to all job relevant manuals, checklists, and standard operating procedures.
    Inventory and Equipment
    • Maintains an organized storage system to easily restock all products.
    • Reports any venue-wide product shortages in a timely manner to Head Bartender for proper restock.
    • Monitors guest consumption to ensure proper restock of product.
    • Uses proper tools and procedures associated with execution of beverage service.
    • Handles product properly and serves product at appropriate temperatures.
    Customer Service/Guest Relations
    • Greets all guests in friendly yet professional manner.
    • Takes time to review products with guests and offers suggestions/alternatives if a requested item is unavailable.
    • Notifies Head Bartender when a special request is made; follows instruction of Head Bartender on resolution.
    • Monitor guest consumption to avoid over-serving.
    • Requires identification to avoid serving underage guests.
    • Reports any visibly intoxicated guests to Head Bartender before making any decisions regarding service.
    • Keeps service areas and stations clean and restocked through the entire course of the event.

    Essential Knowledge & Skills:

    Education: High school diploma; GED

    Certificates/Licenses: RAMP Certificate required within 90 days of hire

    Work Experience: At least 2 years of professional, banquet bartending experience is preferred. Bartenders who have a background in catering is a plus.

    Desired Skills: Ability to communicate in a professional manner, high level of attention to detail and organization

    Freedom from illegal use of drugs and freedom from use and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
