    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The paraprofessional role is crucial for providing academic and social support to students, enhancing access to the curriculum in Yorkville CUSD 115. Effective collaboration with school personnel, implementing interventions, and facilitating communication with stakeholders are key for academic success.

    This is a 10-month position.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Demonstrate knowledge of students' various needs and implement necessary strategies.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality.
    • Show organizational skills and flexibility to meet needs effectively.

    Planning and Preparation

    • Check and maintain student-related equipment.
    • Complete paperwork and data tracking.
    • Communicate concerns for effective planning.
    • Predict challenges and communicate with the team.

    Classroom Environment

    • Provide instructional and academic support.
    • Assist students in daily activities.
    • Implement tools/programs to aid students.

    Instruction

    • Assist in maintaining a learning-centered environment.
    • Monitor student use of technology.
    • Provide organizational assistance.

    Professional Responsibilities

    • Establish positive relationships with staff, students, and families.
    • Consult with teachers and professionals.

    Professional Conduct, Leadership, and Growth

    • Communicate information about students promptly.
    • Refer questions to appropriate school personnel.
    • Model appropriate behavior.
    • Demonstrate flexibility and openness to learning.
    • Assume additional responsibilities as needed.

    REPORTS TO:
    Building Principal, Associate Principal of Student Services, Educational Services Department Chair, and Classroom Teacher.
