    Department: Nursing, 4 North

    Job Title: Nursing Assistant

    Reports To: Unit Managers, 4th Floor Director

    Schedule: Flexible 8 or 12-hour shifts

    Job Summary: The Nursing Assistant plays a vital role in the patient care team, working closely with nurses to deliver exceptional direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living, and preventing complications. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with a background in patient care.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Demonstrate qualities such as honesty, reliability, compassion, and integrity towards patients and colleagues.
    • Effectively communicate with patients and team members, embodying exemplary customer service.
    • Report any abnormal findings or changes in patient conditions promptly.
    • Take and report vital signs, monitor intake and output, assist with personal care, ambulate patients, and provide education.
    • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, be flexible in supporting teammates and patients, and conduct hourly rounds.
    • Be adaptable in assuming additional responsibilities as necessary.

    Requirements:

    • Education: Minimum age of 18, GED or high school diploma.
    • Experience: Previous patient care or clinical experience is preferred.
    • Licensure: Not mandatory.
    • Certification: BLS certification provided if needed.
    • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform various physical tasks including lifting, sitting, walking, and operating equipment.
