    Job Purpose


    As a key member of the NY Advanced Metering Infrastructure meter and field deployment (MFD) team this position will work as the principal project manager to ensure that the AMI program is achieving it's intended Operational benefits and defined deployment outcomes. The expectation is to plan, track, coordinate, and drive the strategic prioritization of deployment activities across cross-functional teams.

    The position is responsible for providing visibility into MFDs progress, success, while providing strategic decision making through analysis of risks, requirements, and trends. Additionally, this position will manage regulatory approvals of operational assets, escalate obstacles, manage risk, and help drive continuous improvement.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Manage the tracking and execution of meter and field deployment activities related to Advanced Meter Infrastructure
    • Develop a framework to monitor AMI's program portfolio and ensure it remains aligned to strategic ambitions and is trending to achieve intended benefits.
    • Maintain jurisdictional relationships with impacted business partners and executive leadership, to manage performance, gaps, and timely decision making.
    • Lead critical regulatory relationships and approvals as it relates to the Operational elements of AMI
    • Responsible for MFDs cross-functional alignment within the AMI program and engagement across key stakeholder groups, through weekly outreach, collaboration meetings, and program increments (PI)
    • Support an agile project delivery and accountable for the prioritization and management of the MFD team agile program increments (PI) and sprint delivery.
    • Understand AMI business case, to ensure it is executing to defined goals and regulatory obligations.
    • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to track, resolve, mitigate, escalate deployment barriers and risk
    • Support MFD budgets, regulatory filings, and benefits realization
    • Other support tasks: Team building, communications, conflict management, coaching.

    Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

    • Able to analyze and present program trends in compelling and succinct narratives and generate top quality reports for executive audience.
    • Drive reporting and/or accountability in a matrixed organization.
    • Work across internal and external stakeholder groups/vendors in the business and IT to drive program performance.
    • Proven team-oriented collaborator
    • Self-motivated individual with ability to work through ambiguity and change, both autonomously and within a team.

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor's Degree and related experience in program management, PMP Certification preferred.
    • Demonstrated project management experience (5-10 years) on large-scale programs preferred.
    • Advanced experience with Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Experience coordinating cross-functional resources and a diverse group of stakeholders.
    • Performance Excellence and continuous improvement experience

    Upstate NY Salary

    $132,000 - $155,000 a year

    This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
