    A proficient Lean Data Engineer in the additive materials and process team will apply engineering and scientific principles to innovate, mature, and demonstrate next generation turbine airfoil additive technologies.

    The mission is to use get various equipment and process data to solve fundamental process problems with lab scale hypothesis tests followed by validation in pilot lines.

    This role is based in the Aviation Engineering Division with coordination through an interdisciplinary team.

    Job Description

    Roles and Responsibilities
    Be on the leading edge of a new turbine airfoils design, materials, and additive process. The role will use data driven, fundamental lean principles to improve all steps of the AET process.
    Work to ensure Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.

    Openness to iterate and collaborate systematically in an interdisciplinary team to achieve results.
    Be accountable for the quality of own work. Develop solutions and inventions to technical risks leveraging technical knowledge while building functional skills in this paradigm.
    Grow in technical knowledge and contribute to novel additive, ceramic core, and casting processes.

    Establish controls and parameters that enable materials and processes to meet the product fit, form, and function using Flight Deck.

    Support producibility evaluations including reviews and best practices. Assist in defining process requirements for all steps using historical data.
    Execute technical plans and or design of experiments to expand material and process capabilities. Document results to enable knowledge sharing in applicable systems
    Partner with Supply

    Chain counterparts to fulfill short-term and long-term business objectives.
    Contribute to culture of safety, structured problem-solving, LEAN, and data for tactical decision making.
    Communicate to the broader team including leadership on significant

    developments.
    Create, Foster and Empower everyone to live the culture of AMP team: SQCD, Customer Focus

    , and Teaming.

    Required Qualifications
    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science from an accredited university or college
    Relevant experience in materials engineering/process, design, and/or

    industry 3 to 5 years
    Able to work in-person and on-site (not virtual or remote) >75% of the time
    Some local travel between sites will be required
    US citizen or green card holder

    Desired Characteristics
    Masters in Engineering or Science
    Be proficient in data analysis software (Python, etc.)
    Lean training (6S Green belt, Lead Kaizen

    etc.)
    Strong oral and written communication skills
    Strong interpersonal and indirect team leadership skills
    Ability to develop processes and procedures from concept to production release
    Comfortable with hands-on lab and pilot line environments
