    Positions at the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board are eligible for telework with in-person attendance based on the operational needs of the position.

    Please note: this position is paid on an hourly basis and limited to 1500 hours per calendar year. The salary range for Scientific Aid is $ $20.45 per hour with new Scientific Aids starting at the bottom of the salary range.

The San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board has an opening for an intermittent entry-level Scientific Aid in the Planning Division supporting regional monitoring and agricultural permitting programs. The position is located at 1515 Clay Street, Suite 1400, Oakland, CA 94612.

    Duties:

    Under the direct supervision of a Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory), and as a member of the Agricultural Lands Program team, the incumbent will assist in sub-professional scientific and technical work related to the Planning Division's water quality programs. The incumbent is expected to support staff with administrative tasks associated with non-point source regulatory programs for confined animal facilities, grazing lands, cannabis cultivation, and vineyards. Tasks will also include outdoor fieldwork to support the Surface Water Ambient Monitoring Program (SWAMP).

    Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
