    Position Introduction


    The Healthcare Institute is a week-long, residential, summer program designed for high-school students interested in a career in health sciences.

    The Healthcare Institute mentors are Saint Mary's students who will act as leaders during the program, facilitating small group discussions, helping organize activities, and building community among participants.

    Minimum Qualifications


    • Currently enrolled in College
    • Must be able to manage confidential information in accordance with College policy.
    • Commitment to engaged learning
    • Competence in a healthcare-related major.
    • Minimum of two years of work experience
    • Demonstrated ability to organize work efficiently and productively
    • Demonstrated interpersonal and public relations skills
    Preference given to applicants who are enrolled in a program that is within the Division of Integrated Health and Human Sciences (Nursing Science; Speech & Language Pathology; Autism Studies, Social Work), but anyone meeting the above requirements may apply

    Schedule


    • 10 hours of community building/help with student recruitment during the spring semester
    • 30 hours of training during Senior Week
    • 60 hours during the week of the program
    • July Summer Camp Program Dates
    • 15 hours of follow up in the following fall semester.
