Summary:

Responsible for the engineering aspect of manufacturing and machining operations through a team of lead associates. Maintains design control and supports project schedule, wood processing, and fabrication through project life cycle.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for breaking down high level drawings and models to piece mark drawings and adding material, symbols, call outs, etc.
• Interpret customer drawings and specifications.
• Ensure contractual requirements are met.
• Assemble/prepare and support job packets to and through production.
• Support planning, prototype hardware fabrication, and the assembly processes for current and new programs.
• Identify, quantify, and procure materials.
• Manage the successful transition of new products and technology into the production arena.
• Assist with resolution on any engineering issues that have the potential to interrupt programs or delivery schedules.
• Participate in concurrent engineering design reviews.
• Provide technical interface with customers - the U.S. Government/other.
• Use manufacturing engineering practices including writing routings and manufacturing instructions.
• Design and procure tools/equipment.
• Evaluate and approve drawings, routings, specifications, and other documents.

Knowledge, skills, & abilities:

• This position requires that the person be a highly organized individual, who is self-motivated, and can work independently.
• Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Preferred knowledge of fabrication and assembly practices, tools and fixturing.
• Ability to work with vendors, customers, and employees.
• Must excel at working in a team environment.
• Familiarize with product construction and internal applications preferred.
• Must be experienced in 3D modeling software.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited college
