    Job Type Full-timeDescriptionFor 40 years, Aero Simulation, Inc. (ASI) has provided quality flight training devices to the US Military. ASI has successfully built numerous training systems with a primary focus on aircrew and maintenance training systems.

    POSITION SUMMARYThe Electrical Engineer is responsible for the electrical design of simulated training devices.

    This includes A/C and D/C power distribution design, I/O distribution design and interfacing various avionics and trainer equipment through MIL-1553, ARINC-429, Ethernet, and other communication protocols.

    It requires the ability to read vehicle schematics.

    The Electrical Engineer provides the specification of hardware, works closely with vendors and suppliers, creates and presents their design, and mentors junior engineers to ensure successful technology solutions.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESWork closely with Systems and Mechanical Engineering.

    Gather a comprehensive view for the design and development of new training systems in accordance with Government/Industry standards and Customer specifications.

    Use the collected information and electrical engineering background to produce electrical designs and details that are manufacturable, ergonomic, reliable, and maintainable.

    This includes the design of wire lists, cable drawings, system drawings, and top-level assemblies/installations.
    Work with and mentor electrical engineers of multiple levels to develop comprehensive and cohesive electrical designs. Typical systems are A/C and D/C power distribution, grounding, I/O distribution, networking, KVM, Emergency Power Off, Overheat, and Audio. Ensures specification of hardware by working closely with vendors and suppliers for successful technology solutions.

    Communicate effectively and work closely with the Computer Aided Design team to generate wire lists, cable drawings, system drawings, and top-level assemblies/installations.

    Support customer meetings including requirement reviews, design reviews, and acceptance testing. Creation of electrical material and presentation of the material is required.

    Provides support to manufacturing in the form of resolving design and documentation issues during production phases, and documenting changes by creating engineering change documents.

    Support customer events such as configuration audits and maintenance training.
    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITESThis position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

    RequirementsEXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSMID - 3 to 7 Years
    SENIOR- 7+ YearsKnowledge and experience with simulators or simulator industry a strong plus.

    Working knowledge of hardware and electrical system design and test processes.

    Working knowledge of A/C and D/C power distribution, grounding, I/O distribution, networking, KVM, Emergency Power Off, Overheat, and Audio electrical designs.

    Demonstrated experience producing manufacturable electrical designs. Previous experience working with government customers with preferred experience presenting and/or supporting requirements reviews, design reviews, and acceptance testing.

    Proficiency in common business software (Microsoft Office - Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Visio).Knowledge and proficiency with AutoCAD software desired.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIESStrong analytical problem-solving skills.
    Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
    Ability to adapt communication style and messaging to different audience.

    Ability to work in a team environment, or independently, as necessary, and be a self-starter who will design and resolve problems effectively and efficiently.

    Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously, ensuring stakeholder expectations are managed appropriately.
    Ability to work in a project-oriented, fast paced environment to meet deadlines.

    Proficiency in common business software (Microsoft Office - Word, Outlook, Power Point, Excel, Visio, SharePoint).Ability to work with project teams to successfully deliver new or modified functionalities.

    Keen attention to detail to deliver solutions that meet business requirements and are operationally supportable.
    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSBachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering or related field -or
    • MID
    • Equivalent experience to education and three years' experience related to aircraft or flight simulation.

    SENIOR
    • Equivalent experience to education and seven years' experience related to aircraft or flight simulation.
    EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS1. Due to contractual requirements must be a United States Citizen2. Must be able to pass an initial background check.3. Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Department of Defense security clearance.

    Employee/selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information (as required)4.

    Travel (CONUS and/or OCONUS) is required to support on-site integration, testing, and acceptance which may include extended periods at customer locations.5.

    ASI is a Drug Free Workplace where applicants and employees are required to successfully pass pre-employment and Random drug testing.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS1.


    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job:2.

    Must be able to perform normal office duties (sitting for long periods at a desk or while attending meetings).3. Must be able to travel CONUS/OCONUS via multiple types of transportation to include car and airplane.4. Must be able to climb stairs to enter and exit a simulator.5. Additional skills may be required to perform additional task(s) specific to work location, department, or line of business.
    WORK ENVIRONMENT1.

    Work is primarily performed in an office environment consisting of offices and cubicles with low to moderate noise and bright or dim lighting.2.

    The work is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures.3.

    The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as external customers.
