McGee's 72 is seeking a detail-oriented Food Expo to join our team.

This is one of the most important roles in the restaurant. The Expo controls the pace of service, protects plate presentation, and serves as the central communication link between the kitchen and front-of-house team.

This position is focused first on managing the expo line and ensuring execution standards are met. Food running support will be required when needed.

We are open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. This is primarily a PM position, with part-time or full-time availability.

Why This Role Matters:

The Expo is responsible for every dish that leaves the kitchen, whether it's served in the dining room or packaged for takeout.

Just as importantly, the Expo acts as the liaison between BOH and FOH. Communicating ticket times, clarifying modifications, alerting servers to delays, and keeping managers informed of priority situations. Clear, calm communication in this role directly impacts guest satisfaction.

When the Expo is organized and proactive, the entire restaurant runs more efficiently.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Learn and understand every menu item, modifier, and presentation standard
• Inspect each plate before it leaves the kitchen for accuracy and completeness
• Ensure garnishes, sauces, and special requests are correct
• Manage ticket flow and communicate timing updates to servers and bartenders
• Serve as the primary communication bridge between kitchen and front-of-house staff
• Organize and verify all to-go, online, and DoorDash orders before release
• Properly label, bag, and stage takeout orders for accurate pickup
• Prevent repeat mistakes and assist with correcting returned dishes
• Maintain a clean, organized, and controlled expo station

Additional Responsibilities:

• Run food to tables accurately and confidently
• Support the front-of-house team during peak service periods

• Night shift availability (required)
