The incumbent also orients to the RN assignment, excluding independent nursing care. This position may participate in medication administration under the direction and supervision of the licensed RN.

    Unit Information:

    Benefits Eligible: Yes

This Pediatric Registered Nurse position will be working full time in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) at Primary Children's Hospital, a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Primary Children's Hospital is a Magnet Recognized facility.

We are a fast-paced, highly specialized 28 bed PICU – we are the only Pediatric Level I Trauma Center in the surrounding area and serve patients from the Intermountain region including Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Nevada, Idaho, Colorado and beyond.

Per reporting data, our patients have some of the highest acuity of all reporting centers. Because of this acuity, our staffing ratio is 1 nurse for every 1.2 patients.

We pride ourselves on our education system, and it is second to none. It takes anywhere from 3 to 5 years to complete. It involves didactic learning, projects, research, as well as oral and written testing. Topics include Advanced Neurotrauma, Respiratory, Cardiovascular, and Metabolic care.
