    Excess Liability Division offers large limits of liability to protect clients' corporate assets from catastrophic loss. The Division provides significant capacity of up to $25 million for both Lead Umbrella and Excess Liability placements. This protection is available to companies varying in size from single location light hazard risks to more difficult-to-place manufacturers and processors.

    Our Excess Liability Division seeks an experienced Production Underwriter to join their team in Marietta, GA. This individual will primarily handle Lead Umbrella and Excess Liability risks in manufacturing, contracting, and retail distribution.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Assumes responsibility for risk selection/rejection, pricing, retention, growth, and profitability per divisional objectives.
    • Uses independent judgment and initiative to support business goals.
    • Maintains high customer service levels.
    • Analyzes coverage and limit requests and decides what terms to offer.
    • Pricing business in accordance with company guidelines.
    • Assesses risk quality and compliance within company guidelines and initiates appropriate loss prevention actions.
    • Orders and screens miscellaneous reports needed in rating and underwriting processes.
    • Develops and maintains effective business relationships with internal and external customers/coworkers.
    • Visits agents, brokers, and producers to retain existing accounts, build relationships, and develop new opportunities.
    • Interprets, explains, and markets products and services.
    • Administers and applies underwriting rules and guidelines, rating manual rules, and insurance laws and regulations.
    • Provides technical advice to lower-level associates and other functional areas.


    Requirements
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Liberal Arts, Business, or related discipline.
    • Generally, 5-10+ years of casualty underwriting experience. Excess underwriting experience is a plus.
    • Effective communication skills to build excellent customer relationships and market products and services.
    • Frequent day and overnight travel required to visit agents and brokers (more than 10% but less than 50% of time).
