    Senior Network Engineer

    Pay rate up to $6.69 - $72/hr


    Job Requirements:


    The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for contributing to the development of the network monitoring and management environment, which will require an understanding of standard models used to both architect and design large enterprise solutions to monitor and manage network infrastructure.

    Extensive experience and working knowledge of various commercial network performance management vendors and products.

    More specifically, this will include, but may not be limited to, Broadcom (formally CA Spectrum/DX-Netops and related components), Cisco Thousand Eyes, Cisco Splunk, AppNeta, and Ignio.

    Extensive knowledge of and experience with the concepts, strategies, technologies, protocols, standards, applications, and tools necessary to build a world-class network management environment that delivers the visibility, reporting, dashboarding, and data analytics needed for proper network performance, fault, and capacity management.

    Experience in installation, operation, and customization of network tooling products in accordance with customer requirements and best practices.

    Experience determining and crafting the necessary infrastructure changes to support the operation and requirements of network management and monitoring applications.

    In addition, working with change control personnel, submitting changes, obtaining approval, and implementing the necessary changes to support the necessary requirements within the enterprise.

    Demonstrated knowledge and experience managing large network infrastructure similar in size to the organization.
    Responsible for scheduling upgrades and maintenance of management and monitoring toolset in accordance with change control and approval processes.
    Providing technical direction and training to networking personnel on the use/operation of network monitoring and management applications.
    Working with product vendors and purchasing for procurement of selected products
    Analyze system functions and failures to isolate and define problem areas.

    Monitor the reachability of all connections within the network adhering to circuit restoral priorities and working in conjunction with operations personnel to restore full network operation.

    Perform diagnostic analysis of the network system, identify possible faulty devices, troubleshoot faulty modules, troubleshoot network-related incidents and outages, and prepare necessary documentation detailing actions taken.

    Provide both on-site and remote technical participation necessary to ensure the continuing operation and optimization of the network.
    Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.

    Other skills and knowledge:
    Experience with software development and automation strategies and technologies such as Python, Ansible, and GitHub is a plus.

    Experience with data collection, processing, analysis, reporting, and dashboarding with Excel, PowerBI, or similar business intelligence applications is a plus.

    Experience with Fortinet monitoring tools, Netbrain, Arista CVaaS, and other network management applications is a plus.

    May participate in the evaluation, comparison, and selection of viable vendor products supporting the network monitoring and management requirement and strategy (tactical and strategic).
