    Description

    Position Summary

    The physical therapist is a key member of the interdisciplinary patient care team. They conduct personalized evaluations and create tailored plans to enhance individuals' physical function and mobility. Regular assessment is carried out to track progress and adjust interventions if needed.

    Responsibilities:

    • Demonstrates proficiency in critical thinking, interpersonal communication, and technical abilities.
    • Evaluates patients comprehensively, considering physical, psychosocial, developmental, and cultural aspects. Assessment findings are effectively communicated to the physician, family, and team members.
    • Develops and executes treatment plans using problem-solving skills and clinical judgment. Serves as a valuable resource to colleagues and students.
    • Maintains clear and concise documentation in adherence to departmental, KPTA, APTA guidelines, and third-party payers' requirements.
    • Ensures compliance with regulatory standards related to the clinical area. Adheres to departmental policies and procedures.
    • Meets continuing education requirements stipulated by the Kansas Board of Healing Arts.
    • Builds strong relationships with patients and demonstrates professionalism towards colleagues and visitors.
    • Readily assists in various tasks and acknowledges departmental needs.
    • Supervises PTA's and rehab technicians, providing feedback on patient assessment outcomes and treatment plans.
    • May deliver educational sessions within the rehab services department or to PT students through teaching labs and in-services.
    • Offers student supervision employing diverse supervisory approaches to bolster learning.
    • Assists in developing, collecting, and analyzing performance improvement data.
    • Takes charge of risk and safety matters related to the role.
    • Efficiently utilizes available resources.
    • Takes ownership of personal learning requirements.
    • Contributes as a team player towards achieving organizational objectives.
    • Shares ideas/concerns with the supervisor.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Required:

    • BS, MS, or DPT degree in PT
    • Licensure in the primary practice state is mandatory
