Serve at the historic Abbey Resort
- As an Abbey Resort associate you will have the opportunity to be part of an incredible team at a full service resort situated on the beautiful shores of Geneva Lake We aim to hire individuals who are ready and committed to exceed the expectations of every guest by genuinely creating lasting memories maintaining a positive attitude and by providing outstanding service every time BASIC FUNCTION The Server is responsible for providing prompt and courteous service for every guest QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION KNOWLEDGE TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE Two years restaurant experience preferred High volume experience Good food and service knowledge Basic wine liquor and bartending knowledge Pleasant personality Excellent communication skills Complete ServSafe Food Handler Certification ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Set dining room tables before and after every shift Interact with guests to take drink food orders Effectively use Teres POS system Communicate clearly with kitchen for food ordering Communicate clearly with fellow servers management Ensure prompt delivery maintenance table setting replenishing utensils refilling water glasses being alert patron spills other special needs Obtain revenues totaling charges issuing bill accepting payment delivering bill payment host returning change credit card signature slip patrons Ensure cleanliness restaurant polished flatware clean glassware plates Be familiar all property amenities restaurants Responsible cash handling bank procedures outlined Accounting Department MARGINAL FUNCTIONS Effectively interact people diverse socioeconomic cultural disability ethnic backgrounds Required perform tasks duties assigned Scheduled hours may vary business needs holidays weekends various shifts overtime reduced hours Help out areas restaurant including seating guests ENVIRONMENT Indoors dimly lit carpeted climate controlled environment Hard kitchen floors occasional slippery greasy areas Handling hot china silver Cemented carpet floors might encounter uneven surfaces We are Equal Opportunity Employer M F D V
