    Description

    Summary:


    The Lead Medical Assistant(s) will take a clinical lead at their site, including training and establishing work schedules for Medical Assistants.

    The Lead MA will bring forward staff concerns and operational issues to and recommend operational improvements to Practice Management.

    The Lead MA may serve as the site Safety Rep.


    Performs various clinical responsibilities within the scope of their certification and under the supervision of the physician or Practice Manager such as Point of Care testing, monitoring Temp Track logs and vaccines and managing/auditing the sample medication supplies for the practice.


    Prepares patient and assists clinical provider with patient examination by obtaining and documenting vital signs, past medical history, social history and chief complaint.

    Position Responsibilities:


    • Prepares patient for exam by obtaining and documenting vital signs, and chief complaint, and preparing patient for provider exam. Prepares exam room as required based on chief complaint.
    • Performs phlebotomy and obtains specimens for processing.
    • Administers vaccines and completes required documentation.
    • Performs diagnostic tests such as EKG, Pulmonary Function, etc. as directed and under the supervision of the physician.
    • Screens and directs patient calls according to established protocol.
    • Contacts patients regarding prescriptions and testing results as directed by and under the supervision of the physician.
    • Trains, Coordinates and directs Medical Assistant(s) at sites, including preparation of work and training schedules. Serves as Point of Care representative for the office. Serve as point person for surgical practices.
    • Maintains par level of clinical supplies for facility. Performs daily regulatory testing as required and documents accordingly, to ensure that clinical equipment is accurate and compliant. May serve as Safety Rep for the facility. Audits and manages the sample medications for the office.
    • Provide feedback and assist Practice Manager with Annual Performance Reviews and 30 day Employee Orientation Reviews. Make recommendations for additional education when needed.
    • Oversight of all state reports, logs and vaccines to ensure compliance.
    Position Qualifications Required /

    Experience Required:


    1-3 years of similar job experience in a medical office preferred.

    Required Education:

    High School Diploma or Equivalent.

    Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

    Training/Certifications/Licensure:

    Must have current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant.

    BLS Certification required.
