    About the Part-Time Building Custodian Role:

    BRIC seeks a part-time Building Custodian to ensure a safe, attractive, comfortable, and clean environment at BRIC House.

    What You'll Do in the Role:

    The Building Custodian will be responsible for the following in addition to any other project as assigned by their manager, the Custodial Manager.

    • Clean all building areas, including floors, furniture, bathrooms, windows and performance spaces.
    • Sweep, shovel and wash outdoor perimeters.
    • Empty trash and recycling, and properly set out for collection by NYC Sanitation.
    • Move furniture and custodial equipment as requested.
    • Perform custodial duties at special events.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Custodial Manager.

    • Experience & Qualifications:
      • High school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of related work experience.
      • Requires prolonged standing up to 3 hours, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning and reaching.
      • Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials weighing up to 50lbs.
      • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors year-round.
      • Must be able to work in and around dust and odors.
    • Communication: An emotionally intelligent, values - and results-driven team player who can collaborate across departments and at all levels of the organization. An excellent communicator who prioritizes customer service.

    • Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is $17/hr.
    • Status and location: This is a part-time position with variable hours. Evening and weekend hours are likely required. This role is based in our Brooklyn office.
