Description
The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting the Project Manager with planning, directing, and coordinating, daily construction management activities.
This position may function from the main office and/or at a project site and is held accountable to the following Core Competencies:Project Schedule and Productivity

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with the following:
Ensuring the timely processing and execution of all Project Reporting including Request for Information Logs, Submittal Logs, Task Tracking Logs, Change Management Logs, Progress Reports, Meeting Minutes, and various other Project specific documentation tracking tools
Assisting in the preparation of technical proposals and presentations, contract packages, budgets, research, correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, change orders, closeout documents, invoices, billings, etc.
Preparing the Bi-Weekly Owner's Progress Meeting Project Status Reports.
Participating in weekly Trade / Subcontractor Coordination Meetings as necessary.
Ensuring compliance of work with the contract documents, project schedules, and specifications.
Resolving scope of work disputes and track field time relative to change management.
Knowing the status of the Project and being prepared to answer questions concerning the Project with confidence.
Assisting in ensuring that duties assigned to others are being completed and that these duties are examined for exactness, neatness, and conformance to the company's policies and procedures.
Reviewing and updating work activity reports provided by the Superintendent with regard to work activities that should have occurred but did not occur and/or work activities that should have started but did not start.
Reviewing project budget and timeframe with the Project Manager, and ensuring a good understanding.
Providing input on new and innovative ways to approach the needs of the company.
Understanding client needs and achieve an acceptable level of satisfaction.
Studying and presenting standardization ideas to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the company
Providing financial assistance as directed by the Project Manager.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 2 + years' experience assisting with commercial construction projects.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office
Experience using Project Managment software
Demonstrated knowledge of the Material Submittal process, RFP's and RFI's
Prior knowledge of industry practices, processes, and standards; knowledge of applicable building codes, zoning ordinances, OSHA requirements and other legal restrictions
Prior experience building relationships and collaborating within a team, internally and external, preferred.
