- Develops an advisory relationship with key client decision-makers and consistently provides valuable ideas to clients
- Maintains a high degree of expertise in Medicare, Medicaid and third-party reimbursement procedures and reports
- Identifies and satisfies client needs, including assisting with the client needs assessment process
- Assumes major responsibility for diagnosing client needs, scooping engagements, developing work programs and fee estimates and proposing engagements
- Consistently initiates contact and follow-up with clients
- Supervises, reviews and controls, as well as performs, engagements of all sizes
- Promotes consulting services and cross-sells other firm services
- Develops professional relationships with partners/principals and keeps them and others informed of status of assigned projects
- Develops relationships with centers of influence and participates in organizations and activities that provide the opportunity to obtain new clients and promote consulting
- Assists in controlling project costs, achieving a high fee realization and in billing and collecting for services on a timely basis
- Participates in the development of new consulting products and practice aids, as appropriate
- Acts as a trainer and mentor to CS personnel, providing leadership, counseling, administrative direction and on-the-job training.
- Supports an environment of cooperation and teamwork in serving existing clients and obtaining new clients and actively serves as a member of client service teams.
- Earns the confidence and respect of other firm personnel and clients.
- Complies with all firm and AICPA professional standards.
- Obtains appropriate professional certifications.
- Extends himself/herself beyond the demands of current assignments and responsibilities and accepts new challenges.
- Ability and willingness to travel 30% - 40% overnight of the time.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Minimum 5-10 years health care reimbursement work experience with a minimum of three years consulting experience.
- Hands-on experience completing Medicare, Medicaid & Blue Cross reimbursement reports.
- Understanding of cost reporting and third party accounting/reimbursement procedures
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong leadership and management experience.
- CPA Preferred
- Ability to maintain a high level of visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time
- Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where minimal standardization exists
- Ability to be creative and maintain a high energy level
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret industry information
- Ability to understand the economics of the firm's consulting practice.
- Exceed client expectations, accurate and timely completion of projects and/or reports.
- Successful in obtaining consulting services from new and existing clients.
