    Key Responsibilities

    • Grocery Clerk helps customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
    • Informs customers of food specials and recommends grocery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
    • Check product quality to ensure freshness. Review "sell by" dates and take appropriate action.
    • Provides customers with fresh and non-perishable grocery products that they have ordered.
    • Recommend grocery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
    • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
    • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
    • Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
    • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
    • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained.

    About This Role

    This role requires excellent customer service skills, effective communication skills, and knowledge of basic math. The ideal candidate will be able to work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment and manage conflict in a reasonable and non-confrontational manner. They must also be able to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary.
