    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Assistant Controller will report to the CFO. They are responsible for providing financial services in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations for multiple properties under common management.

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILTIES

    • Monitor and reconcile multiple bank accounts daily to ensure accurate posting to accounting software. Watch out for possible fraud activities.
    • Prepare bank reconciliations monthly.
    • Review and reconcile multiple credit cards accounts monthly.
    • Assist property managers and junior accounting staff with issues related to deposits and banking, accurate recording of transactions.
    • Work with property managers on preparation of annual budgets.
    • Monitor and correct the performance of the properties through verification and analysis of activities in real time, and on monthly financial reports.
    • Monitor collection activities by properties, perform continuous control and spot audits of revenue and receivables.
    • Process monthly sales tax calculation and submission.
    • Maintains accounting ledgers and schedules by verifying and posting account transactions, amortization and depreciation of capital accounts.
    • Participate in the planning and implementation of accounting procedures and systems.
    • Assist with the preparation of the financial analysis of multiple properties' operations.
    • Assist with the preparation of reports outlining the Company's financial position in areas of income, expense, and earnings based on past, present, and future operations.
    • Assist with the development of short- and long-term financial plans that support overall Company objectives.
    • Prepares financial and managerial reports (periodic and special) by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
    • Demonstrate great organizational skills, be diligent, able to handle a high volume of transactions.
    • Protect organization by keeping information confidential.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned
    Requirements:

    QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION

    • BA degree in Accounting or Finance and prior work experience in Accounting or Finance. CPA is a plus.
    • Strong computer skills with above average knowledge of Excel, and accounting software. Knowledge of ResMan, Yardi, RealPage software is a plus.
    • Prior Real Estate and/or Property Management experience is desirable.
    • Very detail-oriented, accurate, and able to multi-task.
    • Able to meet deadlines and manage schedule.
    • Adaptable to changing priorities, deadlines, and business needs.
    • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience with increasing responsibilities.
    • Must possess excellent customer service skills, strong people skills, and motivational capability.
    • Must have strong communications skills, both verbal and written. Must have full command of the English language.
