- Ensures operation of machinery & mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, & production machines.
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists & hand & power tools; examining equipment for root cause failure.
- Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, & other measuring instruments.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices & control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, & straightedges.
- Controls downtime by responding & ensuring that equipment is repaired as soon as possible.
- Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation & equipment; Mills, lathes & drill presses etc.
- Maintains equipment, parts, & supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed equipment, parts, & supplies.
- Must have extensive knowledge of power systems up to 480V & associated ARC Flash requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent required, some technical school education preferred.
- Minimum of three-five years related experience.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance related areas.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
- Ability to communicate effectively at various levels in the company.
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, and will require long periods of standing, kneeling, crouching, and walking.
