Job summary
The Phlebotomist shall have a thorough knowledge and proficiency in techniques of blood collection and processing of specimens.
The employee shall actively support the Infection Control and Safety policies of the Hospital and laboratory.
The phlebotomist shall use good judgment with attention to details that may impact patient care.
Performs phlebotomy procedures accurately within established turn-around times recognizes abnormal unexpected situations investigates prior to delivering specimen to testing area transports specimens timely manner answers phone calls provides information courteous professional manner monitors specimen integrity processes properly timely manner assures documentation medical necessity follows standards safety dictated by laboratory hospital regulatory agencies contributes efficient operation laboratory participates continuing education programs upgrade educational experience performs AIDET performs duties assigned by laboratory leadership
