- Review Architectural Plans: Analyze and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate implementation during construction.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor construction activities to ensure the quality of workmanship, materials, and finishes meets established standards.
- Code Compliance: Ensure that construction activities comply with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations related to architectural elements.
- Coordination and Communication: Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders to address design issues, clarify specifications, and provide guidance on implementation.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of inspections, including photos, reports, and any non-compliance issues.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit regular reports summarizing inspection findings, compliance status, and any recommended corrective actions.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve architectural discrepancies, conflicts, and issues that may arise during construction.
- Progress Monitoring: Track and report on project progress related to architectural aspects, ensuring that milestones are met in accordance with the construction schedule.
- Safety Compliance: Monitor and enforce safety regulations and best practices on the construction site, with a focus on architectural elements.
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, or a related field.
- Current registration as a professional engineer/architect in the State of Maryland.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in architectural inspection or a related field.
- Strong understanding of architectural design principles, building codes, and construction techniques.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural plans, blueprints, and specifications.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented with strong observational and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of relevant software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, inspection software).
