    Administrative Assistant (230 Days)

    Position Summary:

    Responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the elementary school, including maintaining attendance records, publishing and announcing school news, distributing mail and scheduling student events.

    Communicates with parents, teachers, staff members and other school visitors.


    Qualifications:

    • Requires a high school diploma
    • Requires 2-5 years of job-related prior experience
    • Required to professionally handle confidential data
    • Ability to manage positive interpersonal relationships
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

    Essential Job Functions include the following:

    • Announces information over the public address system.
    • Compiles and maintains staff attendance records and verifies staff absences.
    • Assists with notifying substitute teachers and preparing substitute timesheets.
    • Processes building work orders.
    • Meets and greets school visitors; answering incoming calls and/or routes calls.
    • Communicates with students, parents, teachers and other staff members.
    • Compiles and maintains student attendance records and verifies student absences.
    • Processes discipline forms.
    • Arranges transportation for students.
    • Registers students into the District; maintains database of student information; transfers records out of the District.
    • Performs clerical/secretarial duties including filing, typing, copying, etc.
    • Compiles and maintains budget records.
    • Publishes school newsletter and/or daily bulletins.
    • Schedules and invoices building usage.
    • Maintains inventory and orders supplies.
    • Accepts and handles cash from student activities.
    • Maintains office equipment.
    • Schedules a variety of student functions including field trips and after school events.
    • Receives, logs and distributes textbooks and supply orders.
    • Assists with coordinating special programs and events as needed.
    • Serves on building committees.
