    Closing Date: 5/10/2024 5:00 PM CentralSummaryMaintain consistent water well production capabilities; inspect, operate, and maintain equipment in a groundwater treatment plant; perform routine testing and operation of water disinfection equipment; maintain well field roads; maintain records.

    Essential Functions Pull and set water well pumps as needed;Perform necessary piping installation and repairs of water collection lines, flow meters, and valves;Operate disinfection equipment and accurately calculate proper chemical dosage and adjust well production requirements;Maintain well field roads, cattle guards, and pump station grounds;Operate SCADA system for all system components;Perform as part of an on-call rotation;Perform other assigned duties as required.

    QualificationsCompletion of high school or its equivalent with an additional one years experience in the operation and maintenance of water plant and equipment, including operating and repairing large stationary equipment; or any combination of relevant education and experience which provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills:
    Physical Exam RequiredMust have CDL or Class B PermitClass D Water license issued by TCEQ or ability to obtain within one year from date of hire, with ability to obtain Class C Ground Water license within 3 years


    Critical Infrastructure:

    This position has been determined to have close contact with, or control of Critical Infrastructure components. This position is subject to extensive background checks and random drug screening.

    Water Production:

    Require applicant to live in or near Muleshoe or Sudan, TX

    Knowledge and AbilitiesKnowledge of:
    Principles and methods of water treatment and water well field operations;Industrial safety and sanitary requirements of potable water supply systems;OSHA and in-house safety manual

    Ability /Skill to:
    Operate heavy equipment skillfully and safely;Perform maintenance and service work on trucks and heavy equipment;Make field repairs;Operate various power tools;Understand and follow oral and written instructions;Monitor and control treatment plant equipment;Prepare reports and interpret written instructions;Work cooperatively with others;Operate a computer keyboard;Perform duties in noisy working conditions;Properly use self-contained breathing apparatus

    Physical Requirements:


    Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds;Occasionally lift and carry up to 75 pounds;Frequently flex upper trunk forward at the waist and partially flex at the knees;Occasionally rotate upper trunk to the right or left while sitting or standing;Coordinate eye, hand, and foot movement to operate a vehicle;Place arms above, at, or below shoulder height;Frequently walk and stand during the shift;Occasionally climb ladders and frequently climb stairs.
