    Description

    Our client is currently seeking a talented, innovative and motivated Scientist, to join their Biotherapeutics Discovery Group at their Ridgefield, CT facility.

    This is a fully benefitted role which includes, paid PTO, subsidized medical benefits and company holidays.


    As a scientist, you will help aid in LC/MS-based analytical techniques, computational programing, and will be responsible for Mass Spectrometry (MS) quality control (QC) support for CRO-produced proteins/ antibodies.

    You will help develop automation platforms and writing mass spectrometry-related computer programs to support the Biotherapeutics Discovery team.

    You will help coordinate with the protein scientists and/or project leaders and be accountable for writing MS QC reports, interpreting results, and may in the future collaborate with IT to assist redesign of our workflow software.

    You will also help develop automation workflows and routines for other groups within the department.

    In addition, you will operate lab equipment, maintain initiates, complete routine procedures and method development in an independent and efficient manner.

    Main responsibility is for Mass Spectrometry quality control support for CRO-produced proteins and antibodies.

    Molecular weight analysis, enzymatic digestion/peptide mapping, post-translational modification characterization, and report writing.
    Developing automation platforms and writing mass spectrometry-related computer programs.
    Develop excel functions and macros to automate routine tasks and provide assistance in data statistical analysis. Resource should have programming skills and familiarity with mass spectrometry.
    Plan and develop automation workflows and routines for other groups within the department.

    Troubleshoots effectively and solves scientific problems; Operates lab equipment and is independently responsible for maintenance; Interprets and analyzes technical data accurately and independently.

    Independently applies basic scientific principles, performs literature searches, attends scientific meetings, and keeps abreast of literature in own field.

    Proposes and implements new technologies based on science as well as overall understanding of drug discovery process.

    Effectively communicates orally and in writing; Discusses own work in the context of team and department goals in a concise and accurate manner both orally and in writing; Audits technical reports and contributes to writing of publications.

    Reports and treats data with a high level of integrity and ethics.
    Maintains proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies.
    Master's Degree with 2+ years' experience in related scientific discipline or Bachelor's
    Degree with 5+ years' experience in related scientific discipline
    Familiar with the operation of standard mass spectrometry instruments and associated HPLC instruments
    Experience in computational programming to support process-related automation and data management a plus.
    Advanced skills in excel, VBA, access/SQL database, Python a plus.
    Ability to implement, adapt and modify literature protocols to help solve problems concerning the characterization of proteins.
    Ability to draft technical documents.
