Medical Billing Follow-up Representative

Location: Melville, NY
Pay Rate: $21 - $26 per hour

Reputable healthcare organization located in Melville, NY, dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and support seeking a skilled Medical Billing Follow-up Representative to join the Physician Billing team.

Responsibilities:

• Review and follow up on outstanding insurance claims for resolution
• Investigate and resolve claim denials and rejections
• Communicate with insurance companies to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement
• Identify and escalate any issues affecting claim processing and payment
• Maintain detailed records of all interactions and follow-up activities
• Collaborate with internal departments to address billing discrepancies and coding errors
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and insurance carriers regarding billing inquiries

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and accounts receivable follow-up, preferably in a physician billing setting
• Knowledge of insurance billing and reimbursement processes, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance
• Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
• Proficiency in using billing software and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
