    Description
    The Harold Grinspoon Foundation (HGF), located in Agawam, MA, is seeking a full-time Accounts Receivable Associate.

    This position will support current operational activities of the HGF Finance department and participate in new initiatives of the foundation.

    The largest of the programs, PJ Library, provides families with high-quality children's books, music, and other resources that foster Jewish learning and create a gateway for deeper engagement in Jewish life.

    The Position

    Under the supervision of the Senior Accounting Manager, the Accounts Receivable Associates primary responsibility is to ensure that all income is properly deposited, recorded, and reported to the correct partners.

    This includes handling all donations, event deposits, AR payments, and income from any other source.

    You may also be expected to communicate with donors regarding donations, as well as other questions and issues that arise.

    Responsibilities included, but not limited to:


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    Performs daily cash management duties, including the recording of bank deposits, reviewing cash receipt logs, and posting of cash to the accounts receivable sub-ledger
    Maintains accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared
    Manages payment collection process through customer reach-out and internal escalation paths
    Reviews accounts to identify adjustments and research payment history to resolve account issues and makes recommendations to management on how to reconcile trouble accounts
    Generates aging reports for management every week, providing information of past dues, and any collection issues
    Prepares and report cash deposits, as well as deposits of foreign (non-U.S.) checks, money orders, and currency
    Documents and maintains accurate records, correspondence and related items in the accounting system
    Establishes and maintains relationships with in internal and external partners
    Completes other duties as assigned by CFO and Senior Accounting Manager
    Requirements


    Education:
    Associate degree is required, Bachelors degree is preferred

    Experience:
    Minimum of two years of experience in accounts receivable, finance or other accounting role
    Experience working at a non-profit organization is preferred
    Strong mathematical skills
    Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping
    Superb time management and attention to detail
    Experience with Sage Intacct is preferred
