TITLE: Inquiry / Specification Specialist

LOCATION: Ramsey, NJ

DEPARTMENT: Inquiry Engineering

REPORTS TO: Manager – Inquiry Engineering

Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Inquiry / Specification Specialist is responsible for the day to day operation of the following: analyzing customers specifications and requirements and converting same into designs suitable for estimating and manufacture within the company's capability, with limited direction from outside sources. Knowledge of the company's internal specifications and capabilities is required. Design verification of orders requiring same is performed. Computer programs are developed and maintained.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the above, the Inquiry / Specification Specialist is responsible for the following:

· Actively interact with individuals outside the engineering group to determine the necessary parameters for design and estimating services.

· Maintain department files as required.

· Continually learn and educate self about company manufacturing techniques and capabilities, cable constructions and applications, and industry specifications.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

. Technically oriented.

· Working knowledge of PCs, including MS Excel, MS Word, and computer programming. Ability to program using Visual Basic a plus.

· Experience in the wire and cable industry a plus.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in a Technical Specialty preferred.

In addition, we provide cables to various other industrial customers in areas of Hospitals, Colleges & Universities, Water Treatment Plants and Data Centers. With today's focus on renewable energy, Okonite cables can be found at Wind Farms, Solar Farms, and Biofuel generating facilities.
