    Description


    As a key member of the fleet accounting team, you will be responsible for the timely, efficient, and accurate accounting and reporting related to a portfolio of leased assets.

    You will own the accounting treatment, process and reporting for a number of investment portfolios consisting of thousands of railcars.

    Both ensuring compliance with US GAAP, and external debt servicer reporting, while remaining a point of contact for the parent company.

    Job Duties

    Lead a team of accounting professionals managing a portion of our leasing portfolio

    Prepare and review monthly reporting packages for external bank and internal management reporting, including financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.

    Prepare and review debt compliance reporting in accordance with applicable debt agreements.

    Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries for AITX's leasing business and lead month-end close activities for your portfolio.

    Develop/generate lease fleet reports to perform variance analysis, and analytical commentary.
    Monitor the leasing general ledger by performing account reconciliations/analysis.
    Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations including intercompany and cash.
    Implement improvements to create efficiency to the current accounting processes.
    Ad hoc projects/analysis as required, including assisting with audit requests and other leasing accounting needs.
    Troubleshoot and resolve any accounting issues and discrepancies.
    Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

    People leadership skills and a strong commitment to working in a teaming environment.
    Strong understanding and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including use of linked spreadsheets, data downloads, complex formulas, & pivot tables.
    Must have the ability to meet strict deadlines and balance multiple priorities.
    Hands-on and detail-oriented with attention to accuracy.
    Professional written and verbal skills to interact with people at various levels and functions.
    Knowledge of foreign currency accounting a plus.

    Experience

    8 years or more of related experience required.
    Experience with technical US GAAP interpretative guidance.
    Working knowledge of ASC842 and 840.

    Education

    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field required.
    CPA or CMA designation preferred.
    An MBA or Masters in Accounting preferred.
    SAP S/4HANA or equivalent experience a plus.
