    Description of Work

    The Pharmacist position provides pharmaceutical care within the NC Department of Adult Correction at the NC Correctional Institution for Women (NCCIW) in Raleigh, NC. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, medication dispensing, clinical interventions, final medication end product verification, provision of drug information, nursing inquires, ancillary supply replenishment, training, formulary and utilization review adherence, patient medication compliance monitoring, controlled substance accountability, education and consultation with healthcare providers, inventory control responsibilities, cost containment processes, coordination of workflow, and clinical supervision of pharmacy technicians.
    Position also requires rotation of On-call coverage, half day Saturday coverage, and half day on selected holidays.

    NC Department of Adult Correction (DAC):
    The Dept. of Adult Correction is responsible for the care, custody and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes State Prisons with custody, healthcare and facility operations staff as well as the division of Community Supervision. Other divisions include Administration, Compliance & Accreditation, Comprehensive Health Services, Internal Affairs & Intelligence Operations, Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission and Rehabilitation & Reentry.
