- Must have skills around implementing and documenting a modern way to administer our Linux fleet at scale.
- The first initiative would be to implement Qualys Patch Management for the entire fleet of servers that allows us to keep vulnerability counts within our standard policy.
- This means modernizing our patch management through automation at scale using Qualys.
- Working with app teams to identify needs for shut down and start up scripts to speed and automate patch installation.
- Second task will be to work with the Pipeline Automation team to facilitate Linux server builds though our pipeline automation framework.
- Have experience with RHEL, CentOS and Rocky Linux.
- Manage the performance of the UNIX/Linux operating system, system hardware, and applications.
- Perform application upgrades and fixes.
- Identify and fix bugs involving Tuxedo, Tomcat, and Apache.
- Manage and coordinate teams to address system and application failures.
- Attend project meetings, providing feedback based on the perspective of systems operations to help plan the execution of the production launch.
- Determine the tasks that require automation and implement automated processes to reduce the need for human intervention.
- Manage DNS and DHCP services.
- Document and manage information on OS and program backup and recovery.
- Create bash shell scripts to aid in system stability and deployment repeatability.
- Troubleshoot issues in the environment to make the environment more stable.
- Help with efficiencies, best practices, and policies.
