We're looking to add a skilled Cost Estimator to our team to help us price, plan, and win successful jobs.
    Position Overview
    As a Mid-Level Structural Steel Cost Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate, detailed cost estimates for structural steel projects. Your expertise in estimating, project takeoffs, and industry software will play a vital role in our preconstruction process.
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Review construction drawings and specifications to prepare accurate material and labor estimates.
    • Perform steel takeoffs using Structural Material Manager and/or Tekla PowerFab.
    • Develop cost breakdowns and schedules of values for bidding and billing purposes.
    • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams to validate scope and feasibility.
    • Maintain and update historical cost data and production metrics.
    • Work closely with the sales and preconstruction team to submit competitive bids.
    Qualifications:
    • 3-8 years of experience in estimating within the structural steel or metal fabrication industry.
    • Proficiency with Structural Material Manager, Tekla PowerFab, and Microsoft Excel is required.
    • Strong knowledge of steel shapes, connections, and fabrication practices.
    • Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings.
    • Strong attention to detail, time management, and analytical thinking.
    • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with AISC standards.
    • Background in steel detailing or fabrication operations.
    • Familiarity with project management workflows or construction scheduling software.
