    TCAT Clinical Specialist - Fort Worth, United States - MHMR of Tarrant County

    Description

    I) Job Purpose


    Functions as part of a Continuous Treatment Team (CTT) to provide, dual diagnosis treatment, intensive psychosocial rehabilitation services, psychosocial support, supported employment services, crisis resolution, and housing services to adults who have evidence of co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders (COPSD), and who are currently or have a history of frequent involvement with the criminal justice system, and are enrolled in TCAT/Project RAPP program.

    This individual is required to provide coordination, advocacy, interaction, and cooperation with other departments both external and internal to MHMR.


    II) Essential Functions
    A) Provide assessment, care management, casework, and rehabilitation training services.

    B) Complete ANSA and related assessments during initial client contact.

    C) Develop Person Centered Recovery Plan within one day of client intake.

    D) Update treatment plan in coordination with CTT members before expiration.

    E) Ensure care and rehabilitation services comply with Medicaid rules and pass compliance audits.

    F) Perform interventions with CTT as specified in the treatment plan.

    G) Identify and address barriers to appointments.

    H) Implement specific interventions based on client assessments.

    I) Assist with financial entitlement applications.

    J) Support housing search, applications, advocacy, and transitional living skill training.

    K) Refer clients with health needs to community providers and advocate on their behalf.

    L) Communicate and advocate for assigned clients:
    M) Attend CTT meetings, reporting incidents and progress upon request.

    N) Report conflicts, emergencies, and psychiatric complaints by clients.

    O) Coordinate communication with judges, jail staff, parole, and CSCD officers.

    P) Communicate with MHMR Administration regarding client service needs.

    Q) Provide individual or group rehab training to assigned clients in their homes or at the program site.

    R) Complete daily documentation of services per agency standards, utilizing Collaborative Documentation.

    S) Attend and participate in all Team Meetings.

    T) Maintain credentialing as a Qualified Mental Health Professional.

    V) Performs other job duties or responsibilities as requested or assigned.


    III) Knowledge of Laws, Regulations, Policies/Procedures, Skills, and Abilities
    A) Applicable sections of Texas Administrative Code, Texas Department of Criminal Justice TCOOMMI Standards, Requirements, and Procedures, Third Party Payer Requirements, MHMR Policies and Procedures, Mental Health Code, Medicaid Procedures, Compliance Plan, HIPAA, and Federal standards.

    B) Demonstrates effective organizational, time management, and communication skills.

    C) Demonstrating the ability to work autonomously.

    D) Provides excellent customer service both within and outside the agency.

    E) Demonstrates the ability to engage individuals in services while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

    F) Demonstrates the ability to work in a non-judgmental manner with individuals and coworkers whose belief systems may be based on values different from those of the QMHP.

    G) Demonstrates the ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.

    H) Demonstrates the ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team.

    I) Demonstrates the ability to accept direction and make constructive use of professional and clinical supervision.


    IV) Internal & External Customer Service
    A) This position requires extensive internal and external contacts. The employee will accomplish this with advanced written and verbal skills.


    V) Travel
    A) Adhere to MHMR Mileage and Travel reimbursement policy and any other aspect regarding travel.

    B) This position requires significant travel within Tarrant County.


    VI) Equipment Used
    A) Utilized as required for position.

    A)

    Minimum Education:
    Bachelor's Degree

    B)

    Defined Education:
    Health and Human Services acceptable

    Degrees Include:
    Applied Behavior Analysis, Child Development, Counseling, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Intervention, Educational Psychology, Gerontology, Human Growth and Development, Medicine, Nursing, Physician Assistant, Psychology, Registered Nurse, Rehabilitation and Rehab Studies, Social Work, Sociology, Special Education

    C)

    Preferences:

    D)

    Substitutions:
    Bachelor's Degree with at least 30 hours of behavioral health coursework

    E)

    Years' Experience:
    One (1) year

    F)

    Defined Experience:
    Health and Human services field

    G)

    License/Certifications:
    Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) OR eligible for QMHP certification (based on minimum and defined education above), Valid Texas Driver's License

    H)

    A) All staff are required to participate in agency Emergency Preparedness and Environmental Safety programs and may be assigned by their department as a key/essential staff level function during critical events or for the purpose of sustaining business continuity.

    B) This position may require temporary or permanent re-assignment to any MHMR Tarrant facility as determined by program needs and/or the Division/Director.

    C) Assigned work hours may change as the needs of the agency change.

    D) The Functional Title of this position may change as the needs of the agency change.

    E) All work will be completed within the scheduled work hours.

    All non-exempt (hourly) employees are expected to clock in and clock out for each work shift, no work should be done off the clock.

    F) MHMR reserves the right to change, add to or eliminate positions as it deems appropriate.

    G) Employment is at will, as well as agency needs may change.

    H) Agency dress code is to be followed at all times.

    I) Physical on-site presence, including regular attendance and punctuality, is an essential function of this position.

    Any changes or adjustments to your assigned work schedule or shift hours must be approved by your supervisor in advance.
