- Perform daily tasks related to animal care, ensuring humane treatment of animals, including husbandry, health monitoring, and administering medications
- Perform experimental procedures, collect samples and experimental data, and accurately maintain records
- Collaborate with researchers and staff to design and execute experiments, prepare animal models, and analyze data
- Assist in developing and implementing SOPs for animal care, experimental protocols, and safety guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of laboratory and animal housing areas, following biosafety and animal welfare protocols
- Participate in training programs to stay current with advancements in animal research and welfare standards
- Associate's degree in Animal Science or a related discipline preferred
- 2+ years of vivarium experience with responsibility for animal husbandry is required
- Applicants must have authorization to work in the U.S.
- Experience in rodent handling and proficiency with in vivo procedures, injections, blood draws, data collection, and analysis are required
- Effective written and oral communication skills, including the ability to apply relevant scientific concepts and terminology
- Affinity for animals and respect for their welfare is essential
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic team environment
- Self-motivated with a commitment to quality and safety
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with general computer literacy
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Manual dexterity required for lab work
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed

The estimated base salary range for this role is $50,000 to $70,000. Individual compensation decisions will be based on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills.
