    Position Description: Internship - Ferguson Police Academy

    The Police Intern will work under direct supervision and will be responsible for attending three weeks of scenario-based training. The training will cover various topics related to criminal investigations, collecting evidence, apprehending offenders, rendering emergency first-aid, responding to critical incidents, and de-escalation techniques. The Police Intern will work closely with experienced police officers and will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in law enforcement.

    Essential Functions:
    • Attending all three weeks of scenario-based training sessions with a maximum of one excused absence.
    • Actively participating in scenario-based simulations.
    • Working effectively in a team under supervision.
    • Maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.

    Conditions of Employment: Ability to comply with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 and, upon an offer of employment, complete an Employee's Statement of Health and submit to a functional capacity evaluation at the District's expense to determine ability to perform job-related functions and fitness for duty.
