    To provide small group and/or individual instruction in academic content areas. To provide assistance as needed in non-academic areas such as graduation rate, behavior and attendance.

    is a K-5 elementary community school located on Lookout Mountain, TN. LMES has been the cornerstone of Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, since 1878. We have a highly involved parent population, who with the community, support our endeavors on behalf of children.

    We are looking for teachers who are professional, reliable, collaborative, highly qualified, knowledgeable of Tennessee content state standards and willing to work with our involved and supportive families.

    Responsibilities

  • Provides supplemental instruction and support to selected students.
  • Attends training in the appropriate model(s) implemented in the school.
  • Keeps accurate records of student work and academic support provided.
  • Provides classroom teacher(s) and/or administration with regular progress reports on students.
  • Follows established procedures to ensure assigned areas are safe.
  • Works collaboratively with administrators, faculty, and staff.
  • Attends work and arrives to work on time.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Adheres to the Teacher Code of Ethics as defined by Tennessee Law.
  • Complies with accounting and financial policies and procedures involving the handling of money and property, as well as other Board policies.
  • Uses computers and other technology to enter and access information related to essential job functions.
  • May operate a motor vehicle to conduct various work activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

  • Any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities for content area(s) to be addressed.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to deal effectively with students and staff.
  • Compensation: $20/hr
