    Tarkett is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join the team in Dalton, GA.

    This role reports directly to the divisional Engineering Manager and is responsible for implementing state of the art solutions in all projects, optimizing methods, processes and process flows.

    This position will work collaboratively with all plants within the North American Soft Surface division to ensure that a quality product is delivered to the customers safely on time at the lowest cost.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
    Develop expertise in the manufacturing processes. Understand process capabilities through critical data analysis and in depth understanding of the product.

    Responsible for diagnosing issues found during the manufacturing process and drive corrective action back to source, resulting in root cause identification and elimination.

    Analyze data from various sources to identify trends in quality and efficiency. Develop robust and clear data collection, visualization, and analysis tools.
    Manage workload with a positive attitude as a team player in a collaborative work environment.

    Identify ways to reduce production costs through process development utilizing the company's WCM (World Class Manufacturing) process primarily following FI Pillar logic.

    Projects include yield improvement, disposition of non-conforming materials, response to out-of-control process, and qualification of equipment and processes utilized in manufacturing.

    Perform process characterization, establish process controls for all critical process parameters, support process development, drive to improve yield and reduce cost.

    This will require partnering with other WCM pillars, such as AA, PM, QC, PD, Safety and Environmental in order to ensure improvements are thorough and sustainable.

    Perform supporting activities for engineering and manufacturing including 5S and Lean manufacturing activities, material handling improvements, production line configuration, and safety procedures

    Investigate process complexity affecting Operations and develop lean manufacturing strategies to deploy into the work cells including but not limited to Standardized Work, Kaizen, Problem-Solving, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Process Flow, Heijunka, Jidoka, Total Productive Maintenance, etc.

    Partner with the Plant Manager to own processes and understand performance metrics in order to identify key areas needing process improvements or addressing trends demonstrating process breakdown.

    Partner with the PD and R&D teams to ensure that all new products are;
    Designed for cost
    Designed for test
    Designed for manufacturability
    Designed for assembly
    Liaise with suppliers in regard to equipment design, raw materials and process innovations.
    Manage manufacturing documentation required for product manufacturing i.e. revise drawing, BOM, accurate work instructions and workmanship standards and process procedures.

    REQUIREMENTS (including educational requirements)
    Engineering degree required
    7-10 years' experience as a process engineer in manufacturing environment required
    Must be "hands on" to the process and the shop floor understanding not just the data, but the physical "how" of manufacturing

    Must be fully engaged in supporting industrialization of new processes and procedures all the way to operators on the shop floor.

    Proven track-record using World Class Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or lean tools to streamline processes; optimize production and/or quality of products
    Team oriented, self-motivated and innovative
    Excellent communication skills in a cross-functional environment
    Proven track record and working knowledge within the process manufacturing industry
    Willingness to work closely with production operators and "live" the processes for which this role is responsible
