Job Summary:
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with a specialization in controls, particularly within the ethanol industry.
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation expertise, and a proficiency in troubleshooting PLC/DCS systems.
This role requires a strong technical background, familiarity with specific devices such as Foxboro and Emerson, and the ability to interpret electrical blueprints.
Responsibilities:
Utilize expertise in electrical engineering to maintain and optimize control systems within ethanol production facilities.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical and control system malfunctions, with a focus on instrumentation and PLC/DCS systems.
Perform part changes and diagnose equipment breakdowns on the mechanical side, ensuring minimal downtime.
Collaborate with team members to ensure safety protocols are followed and maintain a respectful work environment.
Effectively communicate updates and issues via radio communication, ensuring smooth operations across the facility.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Familiarity with 480/3 phase power and understanding of 4-20 low voltage systems.
Experience with Foxboro and Emerson devices, with a preference for familiarity with Allen Bradley PLC systems.
Proficiency in interpreting 1-line electrical blueprints and troubleshooting using Ladder Logic.
Strong communication skills and a commitment to safety in the workplace.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous internship experience in a related field.
Familiarity with VFD systems, particularly Allen Bradley/Square D.
Experience with Foxboro or Emerson devices highly desirable.
Education and Training:
Open to candidates with internship experience or relevant training.
On-the-job training provided, supplemented by vendor/contractor training opportunities.
