Performs basic diagnostics and repairs on lawn and garden equipment and established products as requested by the Service Manager and Service Writer.
Maintains condition of shop, vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.Complete dis-assembly and inspection, as efficiently as possible, so parts may be ordered and machine work can be scheduled promptly.
Maintain records and account for all time, parts, and supplies used in repairing and servicing both customer and dealership equipment.
Report to Service Writer any additional work required to ensure proper operation and safety of equipment.As a Lawn and Garden Shop Mechanic, you will be working in the shop (with occasional work required outside in varying weather conditions) to repair, conduct maintenance, and address any customer concerns or questions regarding lawn and garden equipment.
Experience diagnosing, maintaining and repairing lawn and garden equipment, specifically mowers, and a willingness to expand that knowledge.o Physical Effort:
Lawn and Garden Mechanics constantly work on machines in the shop; They must be able to move on/under machines to perform repairs and services.
They often have to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly without assistance. There will be occasions where small engine technicians must operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes as well. to perform repairs, services, and/or maintenance.Work is performed on even surfaces on a hard floor in the shop. There is exposure to dirt, grease, fumes, cuts, bruises, strains, loud noises, etc.
To combat these potential dangers and risk hazards, Small Engine Technicians must follow strict safety procedures, proper equipment safety, and PPE.
