    Coordinates radio station(s) activities

    relating to

    acquisition, installation, maintenance, or modification of studio broadcasting equipment and transmitter site infrastructure

    in accordance with

    FCC compliance.


    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Inspects, repairs, and

    maintains

    all broadcasting and radio station equipment including transmitters, satellite uplinks/downlinks,

    computers

    , antennas, studio equipment, remote equipment, generators, telephones, and related equipment.
    Evaluates studio needs for broadcasting equipment and makes

    recommendations

    for improvements in technical performance of station equipment.
    Establishes procedures for operation and maintenance of studio, remote control, and all transmission equipment.
    Directs and performs testing and maintenance of studio, remote, and broadcasting equipment to ensure operational performance meets industry standards and rules and regulations of

    Federal

    Communications Commission.
    Develops modification plans for existing broadcasting equipment to improve technical performance and overall quality air sound of stations.
    Directs modification and testing of equipment

    t

    ensure operational performance meets specified standards.
    Prepares repair and maintenance schedules for studio, remote, and transmitter site broadcasting equipment to improve

    the

    reliability of broadcasts.
    Provides computer hardware/network support.
    Recommends annual budget for station(s) engineering department and controls expenditures within budget limitations.
    Directly supervises employees in the Engineering Department

    .
    Carries out supervisory responsibilities

    in accordance with

    the organization's policies and applicable laws

    .
    Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    :

    Associate's

    degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
    Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    FCC General class license or SBE Senior certification, valid driver's

    license

    and

    state-mandated

    auto insurance.
