    SUMMARY

    The purpose of the Staff Accountant is to perform professional accounting duties to maintain control over expenses, income, assets, and liability of the hotel to ensure the security of the assets of the company.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Preparation of monthly financial statements
    • Process general ledger journal entries.
    • Monthly bank reconciliations.
    • Monthly account analysis of balance sheet accounts.
    • Assist with review of accounts payable invoice coding as needed.
    • Ensure the general ledger reflects proper posting of invoices.
    • Daily report reconciliation.
    • Analysis of payroll and reporting.
    • Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual hotel sales and occupancy tax filings, payments and investigation as needed.
    • Assist with hotel audits as needed.
    • Maintain a professional working relationship with the hotel teams
    • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Gulph Creek Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary.
    • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
    • Always comply with Gulph Creek standards and procedures.
    • May assist with other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    • 2+ years hotel accounting or auditing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Associates/Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
    • Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
