    Job Description Job Purpose Provide global regulatory leadership for the company by ensuring compliance with global food laws and regulations, managing regulatory submissions, and staying current with global food laws and regulations.

    Develop the companys global compliance program and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement regulatory strategies and ensure compliance. Monitor changes in global food regulations and communicate updates to key stakeholders.

    Essential Functions Provide global regulatory leadership for the company Ensure products comply with governmental regulations in all current and target markets/countries such as NAM, EMEA, LATAM, Canada, and APAC Develop and implement regulatory strategies to meet global compliance requirements for the company Assist in the development of global regulatory systems and procedures for country-specific and local applications Remain current with global regulatory requirements and changes in the food manufacturing industry to enhance regulatory strategies and ensure maintained compliance Participate in cross-functional project teams, identifying risks or concerns as projects move from ideation to launch Lead the global regulatory affairs of the department by providing intelligence, interpretation, analysis, and overall strategy in support of company business Prepare timely and accurate responses to customer inquiries both internal and external regarding the regulatory status of products, their ingredients, and the processes used to produce them Conduct reviews of raw materials, ingredient compositions, formulations, nutritional, labeling, and emerging agency regulations, overseeing the regulatory approval processes of ingredients and formulations for our products globally Fulfill regulatory compliance needs from all key stakeholders and customers in an accurate and timely manner Provide regulatory support to Canadian facilities regarding nutrition, labeling, ingredient declarations, standards of identity, etc.

    Perform risk assessment for the company with ever-changing enforcement and regulation changes in the different regions around the world Accurately maintain product information databases; establish and maintain procedures and processes to ensure regulatory compliance, and participate in audits of all related procedures Provide regulatory assistance for key customers ensuring products succeed in their evolving formulas as needed Prepare and submit necessary documentation for regulatory approvals and certifications in various countries Work strategically across divisions and with stakeholders to understand key regulatory objectives ensuring alignment with business growth objectives Work with outside partners to complete required translations for projects within the department Communicate professionally with governmental agencies and joint venture partners on all matters affecting our global regulatory compliance Work with peers in regulatory department on key industry-related issues as needed Maintain professional relationships with cross-functional teams Support food safety program, quality standards, and legality of manufactured products Perform other job-related duties as assigned Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies) Bachelors degree in microbiology, food science, regulatory affairs, or related discipline 5 years of experience with an ingredient/food manufacturing company or food science/technical/regulatory organization with specific time spent in international food safety standards and regulations Proven experience in global regulatory affairs, preferably in the food industry Experience with NAM, EMEA, LATAM, Canada, and APAC; Canada and LATAM preferred In-depth knowledge of international food safety standards and regulations Demonstrated experience developing compliance programs and implementing regulatory strategies and protocols Ability to interface with regulatory agencies/authorities Excellent knowledge of relevant federal and state compliance regulations and food and labeling regulations related to the bakery industry Strong knowledge of and experience with product specification sheets, nutritional panels, product labeling requirements Highly proficient skills using MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, ESHA Genesis or another nutritional software package Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the company Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently in a flexible work environment with changing priorities Strong leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills Ability to manage, train, and develop others Excellent writing and reviewing skills with strong attention to detail Ability to work proactively and handle increasing levels of responsibility PIb8747670e
