Job Description:
A Registered Veterinary Technician is responsible for providing high-quality medical care to animals under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian.
The technician will assist in the diagnosis and treatment of animal illnesses and injuries, perform laboratory tests, administer medications, and provide general care to animals in the clinic.
Responsibilities:
Primary technician to the DVM for patient appointments and surgeries
Assist in the treatment of animal illnesses and injuries
Perform laboratory tests, including but not limited to: cytology, blood work, and urinalysis
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian
Provide general care to animals in the clinic, including feeding, monitoring, and exercising
Assist with surgical procedures, including but not limited to: surgical preparation, anesthesia monitoring, and post-operative care
Maintain accurate and timely medical records and communicate with clients about their pets' health, test results, education, call-backs
Ensure the clinic is clean, stocked, well-maintained, and daily check-lists are completed
Assist with inventory management, including stocking and counting supplies
Participate in continuing education to stay up-to-date on the latest veterinary techniques and treatments
Willingness and ability to train and cover other positions as needed (CSR, float tech, etc.)
Requirements:
Associate's degree in veterinary medicine or equivalent
Current certification as a Registered Veterinary Technician
1 + years of experience working in a veterinary clinic or hospital
Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
While our current schedule is weekdays 8am-5pm, these days and times are subject to change to suit business needs.
