- Will provide urology technician support to urologists performing urology outpatient care and surgical operating room assistance as designated in the skills checklist. Must demonstrate a knowledge of common and complex diseases of the urinary system and their effects in urology, medical causes of urological disease.
- Assist medical/clinical staff for outpatient and inpatient procedures within the scope of urological technician (medical assistant) duties.
- Screen, obtain vital signs, checks in patients, and escorts patients to treatment areas. Accurately prepares room & patient for examinations, therapeutic measures and procedures assuring all needed equipment and supplies are available prior to the start of the exam. Notifying appropriate staff of inventory and items needed to perform daily clinical procedures when necessary.
- Shall possess knowledge of triage and emergency procedures in order to react promptly and appropriately to provide effective care during emergency situations, respiratory or cardiac arrest.

Requirements
Degree/Education: Shall have successfully completed an accredited surgical service and clinical course.
Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Heart Saver (HS) certification using American Heart Association is preferred. Completion of a surgical technologist program recognized and accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
Experience: At least 12 months of experience working as a surgical technician within the last 36 months
