- Responsible for the development and implementation of organizational strategies to drive employee engagement, critical skills development, employee performance management, hiring, separations, retention of talent, training, employee recognition, and mentoring/career development.
- Ensures engineers working on projects are meeting deadlines, producing quality work, and adhering to all regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Responsible for overseeing and assigning design calculations and drawing development to support Program Goals
- Responsible for ensuring the quality of work from the department
- Administers performance evaluations, provides regular feedback, and coaches engineers.
- General:
- Minimum 8 plus years of design and/or construction experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Understanding of scheduling and ability to meet deadlines
- Experienced in interacting with Production, multiple design teams, customer representatives and equipment manufacturers
- Computer literate and familiar with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office products
- Thorough knowledge of ship and propulsion systems
- Strong working knowledge of Maritime Regulatory Authorities
- US Citizenship
- Electrical/Controls Engineer:
- Successful completion of a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree or minimum 15 years of marine design experience
- Thorough knowledge of power distribution and lighting systems
- Thorough knowledge of automation, control and communication systems
- Strong working knowledge of IEEE and NEC
- Computer - MS Office, AutoCAD
- Will lead and direct the work of Engineers I, II, and III, and Designers
- Will determine technical adequacy of drawings and calculations
- Will provide input to evaluations of Engineers I, II, III, Designers and Draftspersons
- Has authority to direct, evaluate and correct the work of Engineers I, II, III, Designers and Draftspersons
- Experienced in high speed aluminum vessels construction is advantageous
- Working knowledge of modular construction methods is advantageous
- Experienced in US Navy vessels design and construction is advantageous
- Understanding of shock design is advantageous
- 18 years of age or older at time of application.
- Able to provide proof of US Person Status
- No felony convictions of Theft/Deception or Violent crimes within seven years from disposition date
- No felony convictions of Drug crimes within three years from disposition date
- Willing to submit to a drug screen
- Willing to submit to a background check

The Leader in Electrical Engineering will play a key role in shaping our organization's future. Leading a team of electrical engineers, they will provide strategic guidance to ensure the seamless design, development, and construction of vessels for the United States Navy and U.S. Coast Guard. Responsibilities include overseeing engineers, formulating organizational strategies for employee engagement and skills development, ensuring technical compliance of multiple projects, and conducting employee performance reviews.
